Just hours before light heavyweight contender Jon Jones was to fight for the UFC championship of the world, he and two of his trainers, Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn spotted a man breaking into a car and stealing objects. When they started yelling at the man to stop, the robber took off running. Jones, Jackson and Winkeljohn followed him on foot. The thief eventually fell down and by the time he was able to get up and continue running Jones had caught up to him and tripped him. According to Jackson he "foot swept" the suspect. With the robber on the ground Jackson yelled to his fighter to stay away. The suspect tried to get up so Jackson said he "double-legged" him , jumped on top of him and applied an arm bar. Winkeljohn went after the other arm so the robber would not have a weapon. Shortly after the scuffle police showed up and arrested the thief. About 7 1/2 hours later Jones took on Mauricio Rua for the UFC light heavyweight championship which he won. Not a bad day's work, Mr. Jones.
