Football...a true love affair: A little about Kim Rogers, our football 101 author by Kim Rogers

Earlier this week my friend Shannan wrote on my Facebook page that I should be the sports correspondent on the g3 site.  Well guess what happened today?  Miss Kdee called and asked me to join the g3 team to write a sports column!  I am such a big sports fan, and I love to write, so this truly is an honor to have this forum.

I like most all sports, but it is football – specifically NFL football – that I am most passionate about.  Although I do enjoy college football, I find NFL football most exciting.  Many people [like our own KellyB] prefer college football, but for me there is no comparison!

Those of you who are my friend on Facebook, or who follow me on Twitter, know that I often include a sports reference in my status updates.  I have a coworker, Steven, who does not like sports and he told me I make too many posts about sports!  Seriously?  That is who I am!  He actually clicked the “less Kim” button and said that once football season is over, he will click the “more Kim” button.  Little does he know that I will continue to post about sports even when football season is over.  After all, sports – specifically football – is what consumes me!

Believe me, I realize that many other people besides Steven think I am crazy for being so passionate about something that most girls don't know much about.  I try to pinpoint when my love affair with football began, but I simply can’t.  Football was just always on the TV on Sundays when I was growing up in Dallas.  The affair grew stronger each year as I learned more and more about the game.  Even now I still learn new things, and every year my love grows deeper and deeper.

If you like football, hopefully you will enjoy my quips about the great game.  If you don’t, maybe they will help you understand what inspires your husband, father, brother and even mother and sister to be such a fan.
